The Old Quarter in Hanoi is undoubtedly the most bustling part of the city. If I had to compare it somewhere else it would be to China Town in Bangkok. It’s noisy, busy, motorbike clogged and there is always something happening, usually on the higher side of the decibel meter. If you want to experience the quintessence of Hanoi this is the right place to start from .
Here is a little photo reportage of the daily life in the Old Quarter. It’s a paradise for photographers but keep in mind that the Vietnamese people are not the kindest in the world (#fact) so most of them actually do mind having their pictures taken.
